TOBACCO “Ultima II Massage” Album Preview – Stream Two New Tracks

Four years in the making, Thomas Fec – better known as Black Moth Super Rainbow’s TOBACCO – is releasing his third solo album Ultima II Massage on May 13th. Last month the first single from the LP “Eruption (Gonna Get My Hair Cut at the End of the Summer)” was shared on soundcloud. Today Jake Fogelnest world premiered “Streaker” (feat. Notrabel, aka Beck collaborator Brian LeBarton), a second taste of the album on Download 15, his Sirius XM U weekly recap show. An earlier mix of this track was briefly available on soundcloud in 2011 and has been a fan fav ever since. Stream a leak of the album version of “Streaker” below:

In addition to yellow vinyl, a limited 1000 pressings will be one-of-a-kind designs by New Fumes, much like the special LPs he’s created for the Flaming Lips. Limited time preorders at blackmothsuperrainbow.com for both the “Ultima Spa Package” and the “hand-dipped vinyl” packages (both with vinyl pressed by New Fumes) are sold out. The yellow vinyl however is still available for pre-order. New Fumes stated on instagram that he “can’t wait to start pouring vinyl for this majestic evil sounding record!

Besides the first two singles, a demo of “Blow Your Heart” was aired on Sirius in 2011, and “Father Sister Berzerker” (aka “Encore Song“) has been part of his live sets. Fec explains in the press release: “I spent a lot of time breaking it in all the right places. It ends up making the whole thing breathe – sometimes gasp for air. It feels more alive. I wanted to push each song just enough, so that even when the album’s at its wildest, it’s something you can zone out to. It feels like a definitive end to a concept I’ve been trying to perfect forever. Maniac Meat was linear. This time I wanted to do a lot of different things and have them come together as one meditative piece. At least for myself.
