A Fab Four Happy Crimble … Name That Holiday Tune #7

From 1963 to 1969 The Beatles recorded Christmas singles especially for their fanclub.  They were mostly about 6-8 minutes long and were released as 7 inch flexidiscs.  Needless to say, they are all valuable collectors items.  Listen to each in reverse chronological order below:

1969

John and Yoko in their home, Ringo plugs “The Magic Christian” and Paul sings “This is to Wish You a Merry, Merry Christmas.”

1968

Collage: “Happy Christmas, Happy New Year,” John’s “Jock & Yono” poem and “Once Upon a Pool Table.”

1967 “Christmas Time (Is Here Again)”

John’s poem “When Christmas Time is Over” and Beatles’ Christmas original “Christmas Time (Is Here Again)”

1966 “Everywhere it’s Christmas”

“Everywhere It’s Christmas,” “Orowanya,” “Please Don’t Bring Your Banjo Back” and mini-play “Podgy the Bear and Jasper Visit Felpin Mansions.”

1965

“Yesterday,” “Happy Christmas to Ya List’nas,” “Auld Land Syne,” the Four Top’s “It’s the Same Old Song” and “Christmas Comes But Once a Year.”

1964

“Jingle Bells” and “Can You Wash Your Father’s Shirts?”

1963

Goofing around with “Good King Wenceslas” and “Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer”…

Here’s some more Fab Four Christmas jingle jangle –

In 1963 The Beatles recorded a ”happy crimble”‘ medley for Brian Matthew’s BBC radio show.

George’s “Ding Dong, Ding Dong” and Ringo’s “Pax Um Biscum”

Paul’s “Wonderful Christmas Time” covered by Tom Mcrae … and Hillary Duff!

John’s “Happy Xmas (War Is Over)” has been covered by everyone from Celine Dion to U2 to Pavarotti…
