A postcard found in a New Jersey antique shop was posted on tumblr on February 5th. Members of 4 Chan’s /mu/ message board spotted it, recognizing it was the postcard altered by artist Chris Bilheimer into the cover of Neutral Milk Hotel’s In The Aeroplane Over The Sea. From there they were able to track down the image on the internet. Check out the original and others in the series via cardcow.com at right and the bottom of this post.
The message board folks created the below image, explaining and displaying “Potatogate 2012.” The NJ store has been located on google maps and “a handful of mu/tants are currently racing for the prize“…
