Wilco Announce Solid Sound 3…for 2013…

…Releasing iTunes Session Live EP

Held at Massachusetts Museum of Contemporary Art for the past two summers, Wilco’s self-curated and self-headlined Solid Sound Festival has been a unique success for the band. This summer Wilco will take a year off, instead performing a benefit for MASS MoCA – one of the “most visited institutions in the United States dedicated to new art.” According to wilcoworld.net, Solid Sound will return to the North Adams, Massachusetts venue on June 21-23, 2013. The exact date of the benefit this summer hasn’t been announced but will be revealed first to MASS MoCA members (see graphic below via Will You Miss Me When I’m Gone? blog).

UPDATE January 17th

Wilco returns to the road for West Coast dates on January 19th, followed by a swing through Europe in late February/ early March. On January 24th Wilco will release live exclusive, iTunes Session. Recorded at their Chicago loft a few weeks ago (circa their “Incredible Shrinking Tour of Chicago“), the 8-song digital EP was mastered by Bob Ludwig with iTunes sound quality especially in mind. A veteran sound engineer who has worked with over 1300 artists, Ludwig is loved by Wilco for his fine ears in mixing to maximize the sonics of a given format (i.e. vinyl remaster, an iTunes download, etc) and has mastered most of their work from Being There to The Whole Love.
