UPDATE – June 7th
Click though these official Late Night with Jimmy Fallon links from last night to watch Feist lead Broken Social Scene through “Almost Crimes” and everybody’s favorite odd time indie staple, “Shoreline 7/4″ (web exclusive).  In related news, Drew hinted to Canada’s Metro News that this mini-reunion could spark a new tour or album, “I see anything that makes us happy happening.

Original Post
Kevin Drew — Arts & Crafts label co-founder and Broken Social Scene frontman — announced on June 1st, “we are going to celebrate the Ten Years with A and C by playing the record that got everything started — YOU FORGOT IT IN PEOPLE.
Field Trip Poster StarsAlthough Broken Social Scene went on “hiatus” in October 2011, they’re temporarily reuniting to celebrate the tenth anniversary of their label with this headlining performance at Field Trip Music & Arts Festival on June 8th.  This isn’t the first time the band has reunited: their last split lasted from November 2006 to June 2009.  Over the years Broken Social Scene has had 19 musicians weave in and out of their lineup, including members of Metric, Stars, and Do Make Say Think – to name just a few – and most famous of all, Feist. At Field Trip, Feist will have her own headlining slot in addition to joining Broken Social Scene. Labelmates Bloc Party, Stars, Ra Ra Riot, Timber Timbre, The Darcys, Jason Collett, and others are also on the bill.
To commemorate (aka promote) the special occasion, Broken Social Scene are set to appear on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon this Thursday. Being that Feist is performing with them and they’re in 2002-mode, “Almost Crimes” seems likely. Right? Tune in to NBC on June 6th to find out.

Other guests scheduled for late night talk shows this week include Local Natives, Divine Fits, and Queens of the Stone Age. Add to that an all-star schedule on Palladia — with a recent episode of Jools Holland rerunning (Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Vampire Weekend); great 2012 performances by The Shins, Neil Young and The Black Keys; and numerous festival highlights — and we’re looking at one of the most jam-packed, first-class music programming weeks in recent memory.
