Wayne Talks New Movie and Video

Follow http://twitter.com/FutureHeartDay/ for the latest on The Flaming Lips next feature film, The Backyard, and their next music video (“See The Leaves”).  Full posts on both will be posted in the next few days.  Until than, check out some recent interviews with Wayne Coyne

On The Backyard plot: “There’s a fire inside his house and he ends up sitting in his backyard for three hours one night and he … sees another version of his life… he becomes obsessed with it…”

On how he gets all those young woman with the most beautiful (fill in body part) for his projects: “I have a series of models in Oklahoma City… they know it’s art”

On how many Embryonic music videos they’ll make: “Probably we’ll just keep doing them, you know. I don’t know if I’ll do every song but whenever I get a free, you know, couple of weeks, I put something together and continue my excessive, ridiculous story – whatever it is, I’m not sure what it is…”

“The one I shot – when I was just at home – is for the song “See the Leaves”

More on The Backyard: “I don’t know when that will finish or whether that will be any good…”

“This one, I think is actually gonna be shot in my backyard and it’s gonna be called The Backyard. And it’s about a guy who stumbles upon seeing another version of his life being lived by the people that just live right behind him.  Little by little he becomes obsessed with wanting to live like they do as opposed to his own life and he gets confused as to which is his obsessed – the life that he’s obsessing over and his real life – and he works at a slaughter house … it’s weird, yeah – yeah, yeah…”
