Every year since 1986 (excluding 1987) Neil Young has hosted The Bridge School Benefit – a mostly acoustic, charity concert for the Bridge School helping children with severe communication issues and physical impairments. Now in its 25th year, for the first time the concert was webcast. Highlights included Neil Young guesting in the other artists’ sets, Arcade Fire’s last gig before a planned live hiatus for the next few year and one of the few Beck concerts of the last three years (more on Beck’s recent return to the stage here). The 25th Anniversary Bridge School Benefit streamed live on Facebook, YouTube and on the top of this very page at 7:30 PM EST on Saturday, October 22nd. On Sunday, October 23rd a replay is available (also above).
Neil Young opened the show with flower-power anthem “Get Together” (of Youngbloods fame). Next Devandra Banhart played a short set that began with a tribute to (recently deceased) Bert Jansch. Watch Beck’s entire set on demand (here -with photos and commentary on his recent return to the stage). Watch Eddie Vedder’s entire set here, Arcade Fire’s here and Neil Young’s here. Check below for all their setlists, video highlights of indiviual songs and official backstage footage. Follow updates at twitter/FutureHeartDay… and don’t foget to donate!
