New Roo Clues and BLAM! Superjams

“We played a song with [Yoko Ono] and her son,” Flaming Lips keyboardist and guitarist Jake Ingalls explains to Memphis Flyer of the band’s headlining Amnesty International’s Bring Human Rights Home Concert on February 5th. “We loaded out from that and went straight to the David Letterman load in, and then into the [Vans] Warehouse in Brooklyn for a modern super-jam advertisement with Ben Folds…We’ve done our load out three times in the last 48 hours. We pretty much didn’t sleep for three days.”  Following these gigs Wayne Coyne will resume his tour of the record shops of America, meeting fans and selling goodies – including the chocolate “Skull Mega Box” 30th anniversary reissue edition of the band’s debut EP.  In the midst of all the Lips’ New York work – loading in, performing, and loading out – the band has been busy rehearsing for tonight’s BLAM! “superjam” taping with Folds and Foxygen frontman Jonathan Rado.  Watch snippets of the rehearsals below and tune in February 19th to watch tonight’s performance.
