Bridge School Benefit Webcasting Acoustic Sets by Neil Young, My Morning Jacket, Arcade Fire, Tom Waits with Les Claypool

Hour 1 – Neil Young opened the show with “Blowin’ in the Wind” and “Heart of Gold.”
Hour 2  – Jenny Lewis began her set with unreleased original “Head Underwater” and Heart covered Zep’s “The Rain Song.”
hour 4 – Elvis Costello paired “New Amsterdam” with The Beatles’ “You’ve Got to Hide Your Love Away.” Later he also covered the standard “Brother, Can You Spare a Dime?” and The Hollies’ “King Midas in Reverse,” in addition to originals such as “Allison.”
Hour 5 – Jack Johnson songs like “Mudfootball” fit the relaxed atmosphere of the concert perfectly.  My Morning Jacket began their set with “Circuital” and Woody Guthrie’s “Pastures of Plenty.”
Hour 6 – Jim James’ touching banter about Neil Young is followed by Neil joining them for “Harvest Moon;” then they finished their set with own “I’m Amazed.”  Arcade Fire began their set with their last two albums title-tracks’ “The Suburbs” and “Reflektor.”
Hour 7 – Arcade Fire finished their set with Neil joining them for “I Dreamed a Neil Young Song,” then Funeral highlight “Wake Up”
Hour 8 – Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young took the stage together for the first time since 2006.  They blend well on Neil’s “Human Highway.”
Hour 9 – CSNY hits load the back of their set with: “Deja Vu,” “Long May You Run,” “Suite: Judy Blue Eyes,” and of course “Teach Your Children.”

Neil Young’s Bridge School Benefit is a multi-artist, acoustic charity concert for Hillsborough, California’s Bridge School helping children with severe communication issues and physical impairments. Held annually since 1986 (except 1987), it returns this weekend to Mountain View’s Shoreline Amphitheater with Arcade Fire, My Morning Jacket, Tom Waits with Les Claypool, Elvis Costello, Queens of the Stone Age, Jack Johnson, Fun., Heart, Jenny Lewis, and Diana Krall. All artist are playing both days except Arcade Fire and Jack Johnson (Saturday only) and Tom Waits (Sunday only).
Neil Young will most likely open both shows with a brief solo set, as he does every year, and hours later take the stage again to headline with Crosby, Stills and Nash – their first performance together since the 2006 Freedom of Speech tour. Neil also typically sits in with some of the other artists on the bill for a song or two.
