Christopher Pomerenke’s documentary The Heart is a Drum Machine – featuring Wayne Coyne and Flaming Lips cohorts’ (Modest Mouse’s) Isaac Brock, Elijah Wood, (MGMT’s) Andrew VanWyngarden, (The Postal Service’s) Jimmy Tamborello, Janet Weiss (of Quasi, Stephen Malkmus and the Jicks and formerly of Sleater-Kinney), John Frusciante, Juliette Lewis, (KCRW’s) Nic Harcourt, (Tool’s) Maynard James Keenan, among many others, including several scientists – was released on DVD March 9 and became available On Demand April 1. Additionally, it screened in Portland January 30 and in Hollywood on March 10 (it was also in L.A. – and Seattle – in April 2009).

yeah it seems annoying beucsae we all want more and more new Tool songs beucsae they are so awesome. But look what Maynard has done in the mean time He’s done a lot of other cool musical projects that really show just how amazing he is as a singer/song writer. Actually, to me, Tool is mostly about Maynard he is who I focus on most of all and with out him, I dont think the band would be as good as it is now. Dont get me wrong, Danny Carrey is an unreal drummer (my favorite) and Adam is a great rhythm guitarist, and most of the music part of the songs are great, but Maynard brings it all together I think. I dont know its hard to explain. But when I listen to APC or Puscifier, I feel like I’m listening to Tool, but really that feeling is the feeeling that I’m listening to Maynard. He’s a deep and artful soul that is great to explore. Again, dont get me wrong, I love Tool. But I’m glad that Maynard has proceeded to make amazing music regardless of what he has to work with. Also I know that its not just him, but teams of artists making music. Anyway, I’m done blathering.

Other bands have no problem genttig together and putting an album out every couple of years, yet the process is too convoluted for tool?
